Valencia Basket had to dig deep and step up late on to secure another home victory at the Roig Arena, claiming their 22nd win of the Liga Endesa season with an 88–83 triumph over Surne Bilbao Basket. In a game they completely controlled during the first half, the visitors surged ahead in the third quarter thanks to remarkable shooting accuracy, forcing Valencia to come from behind twice in the final period before eventually sealing the win.
The Taronja side took control midway through the first quarter and displayed their best defensive form, holding their opponents scoreless for six minutes and beginning to build a lead that expanded even further at the start of the second quarter with a 24–2 run. Bilbao eventually found some relief through three-pointers from Pantzar and Jaworski, preventing the gap from widening further, but Valencia remained composed and headed into halftime with a comfortable advantage.
That lead quickly disappeared at the beginning of the second half as Bilbao turned to a red-hot Jaworski from beyond the arc. A 5–26 run completely flipped the scoreboard and put the visitors in front. However, Valencia managed to rediscover their outside shooting late in the third quarter and entered the final ten minutes with a narrow lead.
Valencia struck first in the fourth quarter, but Jaworski once again stepped up, hitting shots from all over the court to give Surne Bilbao Basket the edge heading into the final three minutes. In the closing moments, the Taronja side tightened up defensively and raised the intensity, ultimately securing the victory with Taylor and Key delivering when it mattered most.
